I'm not everyone's cup of tea.

There are loads of top-notch copywriters out there, each with their own specialities and ways of working. Some are going to be a better fit for your business than others.

Here are a few reasons we might not be right for each other:

You're looking for a copywriter because you don't have time to do it yourself.

Everyone can write, right? We start learning aged three and by 18 most people can write pretty damn well. The thing is, all copywriting is writing, but not all writing is copywriting. Copywriting is a craft that takes all kinds of training and practice to get right. I like to work with people who value my craft and recognise that paying a professional copywriter is worth every penny.

You don't have time to answer questions.

I need to be able to get to know you and your business inside out. I need you to be able to take some time to tell me about who you are, what you do and why you do it. I need you to answer my questions and not go quiet on me after our first conversation. I don't ask questions to be irritating—I do it so I can write the best possible copy for you.

You're looking for a per-word quote.

Some messages take three words to convey. Others take three pages. That doesn't mean that the three words should necessarily cost less than the three pages. Writing shorter copy often takes longer! If you're after a per-word quote, I'm the wrong copywriter for you.

You work in financial advice or legal.

I don't specialise in any particular industry, but I do tend to steer clear of financial advice and legal organisations. There are plenty of copywriters who do specialise in these areas, so try searching for 'financial copywriters', 'legal copywriters', or drop me an email and I'll do my best to point you in the right direction.

If none of these things sound like you—if you're looking for a copywriter who knows their stuff and writes marvellous copy that works for your business—let's get started!
