Project: Henleys | Web Copy

The client:

Henleys is an online and events-based sweet retailer.

The project:

I first met David—the owner of Henleys—at the Rail Ale Beer Festival. We exchanged details and started chatting about his business, and what started as a piece of SEO consultancy soon became a branding, web design, build and copywriting project.

Aside from the fact that his old site wasn’t mobile friendly, the Henleys brand and tone of voice didn’t reflect the quality of the products. While Lisa Maltby at Maltby Design Co created a visual brand and on-site illustrations that captures the essence of the business, I worked on copy that not only communicates the values of the brand and the quality of the products, but also enhanced SEO. Oliver Brown—an Edinburgh-based web designer and developer—then pulled everything together with a fully-responsive site.
